MURRAY ALLAN NEDOHIN 1931 - 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Murray Nedohin at his home on December 19, 2011. Murray will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Elaine; sisters Ruth Whall and Olga Boyda; his family through marriage sisters-in-law Judie (Allan) Larter and Carol (Van) Roy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Harry, Pete, Henry, Harold and Matt, and sisters Marion, Pearl, Alice and Helen. Murray was born at home on the farm in Overstoneville, the youngest of 12. Here he developed his sense of family, strong work ethic and a love of music. He moved to Winnipeg as a young man to seek his fortune. Starting out he worked many different jobs always moving on to something better. While he worked at the Free Press, he saw an opportunity to run his own business - the first being the Windmill Restaurant. This was the start of his life as a businessman. He moved on to the Black Knight Restaurant, Empress Lanes Restaurant and Poplar Bay Trading Post, a general store. He retired after selling the Trading Post and, being a country boy at heart, he purchased a country residence on Henderson Highway. Even in retirement, his entrepreneurial spirit thrived and he operated a vegetable market (pumpkins his specialty) out of the farm yard selling produce he grew with his two partners. He took great pride in his property, making sure that the yard was meticulously manicured at all times. He finally truly retired after closing the vegetable market and moved to Selkirk in 2010, with his wife Elaine who had worked by his side in his later businesses. Murray was a people person - he could strike up a conversation with anyone - this made him successful in everything he did. He truly cared about everyone in his life. We will miss him. We would like to thank Dr. O. Prodan for his care over the years. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street West St. Paul, Pastor Raymond Nedohin officiating. Reception to follow. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of their choice. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
