YUELA MARVIS LOVE
Born: May 24, 1930
Date of Passing: Dec 02, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYUELA MARVIS LOVE May 24, 1930 - December 2, 2011 Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Dauphin Hospital on December 2, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Thomas (Stymie) Love and will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lorie and Guy, son-in-law Gord, and grandkids, Riley, Katie and Josh. Yuela was predeceased by her father Malcolm McDonald, mother Alice, and sister Delores. She is survived by her brother Gary McDonald, his wife Dawn, and their children. Yuela spent many lovely summers at Ochre Beach, watching the kids frolic while she sat, toes dipped in the water, sipping coffee, reading a book, and laughing with Elsie Leahul. Many family get-togethers took place in those warm summer days with the cottages of her sisters-in-law (Lois, Lillian and Sarah) so close by. She was a glamorous gem of a lady, and brought light wherever she went; be it the lake, Corpus Christie, or the grocery store. No party was complete without her. She and Stymie retired to a small acreage in Waterhen in 1990. Many wee hours of the morning were spent fishing for pickerel. A large garden was lovingly tended, with Pavarotti playing to help the plants grow. Innumerable flowers flowed from countless window boxes and planters. And while she loved these blossoming beauties, her real love was her birds. Mom knew all the particulars (and likely the first names) of all the different species of birds. She could tell you if they were running on time, what they liked to eat, and how they were feeling. She grew the grapes to keep their bellies full, carefully maintained their feeders and nursed them back to health with a sip of rum and TLC when they hit the windows. She loved them, and they loved her. As a woman with busy hands, she was also a talented knitter. Yuela made countless fine socks, hats, sweaters, and of course, baby blankets, that everyone always felt very lucky to receive. If her hands weren't whirring always with needles, they were probably filled with a good book, or were busy in the kitchen. Despite her perfect physique, she was an exceptional cook, who was just as generous with her treats as she was with her love. There will never be better pickles. Humans were not the only ones well fed. Pets were as good as gold in her books and she showed her love with fresh fish for the cats and special meals cooked just for the dogs. Two legs, or four, everybody when home happy and full from Grandma's house. Words cannot describe the ache in our hearts, and how much she will be missed. She brought us a silent strength, sparkle, tender warmth, compassion for the underdog, sassiness, love of life, and love of others that can never be replaced. Everything she did, everything she made, and everything she was, was full of love. In lieu of flowers, those that wish may donate to the Parkland Humane Society on Yuela's behalf, to serve those whom she wanted to protect. Our family would also like to thank Dr. Penrose, Ford and the other staff of the 2nd floor for the fine care they provided her, and support they provided our family.

Yuela was a friend of my cousin, Nancy (Machan) Birss and her husband Ted. Seen them in Peterson? tea room next to the Grange when I would go in to bum a smoke from Nancy. My Condolences to you Stymie, and the family. - Posted by: Bob Bull (Schoolmate of Gary) on: Dec 26, 2011
