It is with great love and pride that I will always remember my dear Pa Pa. Raising six children, he instilled us with an ironclad work ethic, love of family, friends, faith and community. Some of my fondest memories are of family vacations that were spent on Vancouver Island with immediate family and nieces from Calgary, Michelle, Maureen, Christine and Shelly. Even though he was often exhausted from work, he would find the time and energy to shuttle me to after school activities or take me to one of his many friend's building projects. I was frequently enlisted as his helper and learned firsthand his attention to detail and dedication to his chosen profession. He never turned down any of his friends that may have required his help. He also imparted a love of nature and the great outdoors that are now a cherished part of my life. Many times I was in awe not only of his tremendous physical strength, but his internal fortitude and ability to forge ahead when others may have given up. He truly was the strongest man I have ever known. Rest in peace dear Pa Pa, we will always love, admire and remember you for your many gifts and a life well lived. - Posted by: Lenore St Hilaire (Daughter) on: Jan 29, 2012

I will always remember my Grandpa for his hard work and dedication both to his trade and his family. He was always there for us with a smile, a big hug and his signature two cheek kiss. His memories are woven throughout my life starting in my childhood when he would bring us from Calgary to Victoria to spend endless summer days at the beach while he built houses. He was there on the day my husband Richard proposed to me on Hornby Island and walked me down the aisle. He became lovingly known as "Papa Louis" by my children Jayda and Parker. We visited him often and will always remember the days spent at Sidney by the sea in his beautiful yard filled with his massive geraniums and pet squirrels and later in View Royal in Victoria where we picked blackberries and made pies. We are so thankful to be part of his family and will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Papa Louis - you will be missed but we will always love and remember you in our hearts! - Posted by: Shelly Brimble (Granddaughter) on: Jan 17, 2012

Very fond memories of Irene and Louis, when we lived in Victoria 1961-1963. We enjoyed speaking to them in French. - Posted by: Emma & Maurice Vermette (very good friend) on: Dec 27, 2011
