ROSE MILLER With sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Rose Miller on December 22, 2011, at Seven Oaks Hospital, at 89 years of age. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Ave., with viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.

ROSE MILLER On December 22, 2011 Mrs. Rose Miller left us to celebrate Christmas with her beloved husband Victor. She will be deeply missed. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and John Letwin, and her brothers and sisters Katie, Mary, Johnny, Billy, Annie, Mike, Alex, and Nick. She leaves her son, Ron and Boyd, as well as many nieces and nephews to hold her in memory. Rose was born in Parkerview, SK on August 10, 1921, the sixth of nine children. She was raised on a homestead farm. When schooling was completed she moved to Winnipeg working in the kitchen at the St. Regis Hotel. It was there she met her husband Victor, who swept her off her feet with his sense of fun and excitement. They were married in October 1947. Later they then opened their own restaurant, The Coronet. They worked side by side throughout the day. Rose became a highly skilled baker. When they thought it was the right time they sold their restaurant and Rose worked side by side with Victor at Niakwa Golf and Country Club. Rose was the baker, a job which she loved. She was always proud of her muffins and pies. She'd always talk about out of town customers who'd ask her to bake their favourite desert to take back home with them. In her 60s Rose suffered a paralyzing stroke and needed care. This was provided by her husband until his death in 1998. Subsequently she lived at the Maples Personal Care Home, and Holy Family Care Home until her passing. Funeral services will be held at Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Viewing to take place 10:30 a.m.
