ANNE OLEKSEWYCZ June 15, 1921 - December 26, 2011 Peacefully Anne, with her loving son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Debbie, by her side, made her transition into our Lord's home. We know she was welcomed by her husband, Steve (2002) and her sons, Mernie Kozie and Joey Kozie, along with her parents and many family members that have preceded her. Besides Allan and Debbie, Anne is also survived by her grandsons, Sean and Drew, who already greatly miss their Baba. Anne also leaves many family and friends and especially her family at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church. Our Mother and Baba was born and raised in Tyndal, MB and upon moving to Winnipeg, met her true love, Steve. Following their marriage (which was 45 years strong at the time of Steve's passing), they were blessed with their son, Allan. While Anne was employed for many years at Ready Foods, the most important aspects of her life were her God and her family. She faithfully attended church and instilled in her family the traditions of her faith. Family meant everything to Anne and she kept her means minimal, so she could give more to her family. She was a great cook and hostess and was always so happy when family or friends visited. You never left her home feeling hungry or thirsty. Mom also loved her flowers and took great pride in her garden, of which many of us enjoyed the benefits of. She was a longtime member of the St. Anne's Women's League. Words can not express the thanks our family has for all of the Angels at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home. The care, treatment and love that was showered on Anne every day for just over two years is so greatly appreciated. You not only kept our Mom and Baba, so comfortable these last few days, you also made sure her family was taken care of, as well. Thank you - we will never forget you. Prayers will be said on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Anne's cousin, Rt. Rev. Canon Walter Klimchuk, along with Fr. Mark Gnutel will be officiating. Our family requests no flowers but would appreciate a donation in Anne's memory to the St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church Stain Glass Fund.
