CORNELIA THOMASINA LINKLATER (VAN SON)
Born: Apr 02, 1919
Date of Passing: Dec 23, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORNELIA THOMASINA LINKLATER (VAN SON) April 2, 1919 - December 23, 2011 Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Friend. Corry passed quietly and peacefully in her sleep in the wee hours. She came to Canada in 1947 bravely crossing the big ocean alone to find a new life with her wartime Love, Cornelius Linklater. They shared a given name and then a surname and were married August 14, 1947. She has crossed another expanse to be with him again and she took some comfort in her last days knowing he would be waiting to greet her. Corry loved flowers/gardening, music, dancing and laughing and she loved all of us. She leaves some of these qualities in each of us and in that way she lives on. She is survived by her four children, Neal Linklater, Rob Linklater, Sharon Gray (Bob), and Wendy Burdon, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in Canada and in Holland. She also leaves to mourn her very good friend Glen Kirkland who was a great comfort to her during her last years. Many thanks to the staff at Oakview Place who treated her with kindness and dignity. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Alzheimers Society. http://www.alzheimer.mb.ca/ Service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 11:00 a.m., Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg. The service will be webcast at nbardal.mb.ca
