KATHARINE (KAS) WOOD (STEDMAN)

KATHARINE (KAS) WOOD (nee STEDMAN) On Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 75 years, after a short battle with lung cancer, passed away with her family at her side at Riverview Palliative Care in Winnipeg, MB. She will be fondly remembered by her husband Byron (Barney) Wood, her son Donald Wood, daughter Karen (Ray) Wong, and grandaughters Ashley and Megan Wong. She was predeceased by her parents Lena and Frederick, sister Marion, and her brother in infancy. Katharine was raised in Coppercliff ON, achieved her RN at Toronto East General in 1957 and raised her family in Thompson MB (1960 to 1987). Katharine was a loving wife and stay at home mother. She also was a self taught artist of oil paintings and sold many paintings in Thompson and at the Eaton's gallery in Winnipeg. She then retired to Bobcaygeon, ON in 1987. Thank you to all that provided caring and support during Mom's illness. Cremation has taken place and no service will be held based upon her wishes. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Katharine's memory to the Canadian Lung Association.
