NORMA KAISARIS (CURTIS) May 1, 1926 - December 29, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Kaisaris on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Norma passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Norma was born in Montreal, as the only child of Reida and Nelson Curtis. She attended school in Montreal and graduated from McGill University. Norma married Harold Kaisaris (previously deceased) and moved to Winnipeg in 1957, with three young boys, David (Jennifer), Stephen (Charlotte), and Scott (Barb). She felt blessed to have seven wonderful grandchildren, Michael, Andrea, Jessica, Taylor, Gavin, Mathew, and Ashley (deceased). Although she had no daughters, Norma felt fortunate to have three wonderful, caring daughters-in-law. The family settled in East Kildonan and immersed themselves in the community. Norma volunteered with church groups at John Black United and later worked to grow the Association of Learning Disabilities. Career positions included, the River East School Division and the Volunteer Bureau of Winnipeg. She was active on the volunteer board of Middlechurch Home and the St. Agnes Guild. Mom loved to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed playing bridge with the girls and she lived for spirited conversations and debates. Mom was grateful for her many friends whom she cherished their time together. Mom was our family rock, and guiding light. The family feels blessed to have been given a lifetime of love through all of her wonderful gifts. She will be missed by all who touched her. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to one of her favourite charities, in her name: Manitoba Lung Association, Children's Hospital Foundation and the Variety Club of Manitoba. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff on fourth floor Unit 2 for their compassion and care. As well, thanks to Dr. Fletcher and Dr. Homik. A celebration of Norma's life will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Immauel United Church, 755 Golspie Street. Loved and is loved.
