JEAN ALISON DREGER (nee MCDONALD) Peacefully on December 14, 2011, at Concordia Place, Jean left this world to be reunited with her beloved husband, Ralph, who predeceased her five years ago. Jean was born on March 4, 1928, in Bundarra, New South Wales, to Alexander and Lillian McDonald. In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was predeceased by her parents and only brother, Bruce. Surviving are her only sister, Flora, and one niece, Heather (Rene) and her children living in Canberra, Australia, as well as Ralph's brothers and sisters and their families in Winnipeg. Jean earned her nursing degree in 1954 in Australia. After a few years of nursing she put her career on hold so she could travel the world, one of her destinations being Winnipeg. Upon her return to Canada in the mid 1960s she settled in Winnipeg and worked at St. Boniface Hospital. Through a co-worker she met Ralph and they eventually married in March, 1969. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in the Chapel at Concordia Place, 1000 Molson Street with Rev. John Friesen of Concordia Place officiating. Interment to follow in St. Vital Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff on the third floor of Concordia Place for giving Jean a comfortable and loving home to live in. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Concordia Foundation, 1095 Concordia Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
