Harder passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Selkirk General Hospital. Jake is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his children, Ron (Roberta), Carol (Hart), John (Annie) and Wayne (Cathy); his grandchildren, Andrea, Jordan, Meron, Sanni and Liam; special friends, Helia deAndrade, her daughter, Filomena and her children, Carter and Isla. Jake was predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Katharina Harder and thirteen brother and sisters. Funeral Services to be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at a later date. The family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Marian Shaker and the staff of the Selkirk General Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to our father and our family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Mennonite Church Memorial Fund, 465 Stafford St. Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3M 2E2.
