Mohandas Gandhi said Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. Your will has changed many people's lives, we have learned from you and that will live on. Forever missed my friend. - Posted by: Lisa Goss (Friendéco-worker) on: Jan 05, 2012

I remember Velma's laughter. It was the kind of laugh that got you caught up in laughing right along with her. She was excellent at doing her job, but her greatest ability was how she put people at ease in stressful situations. She was a gift to us for a short time. I will miss Velma very much. - Posted by: Betty Pellaers (Friend and co-worker (now living in Victoria BC)) on: Jan 04, 2012

Velma, there will not be a kinder angel in heaven than you! I started working with you in 2002 and was in awe at the kindness, respect and love you showed all our clients. You truly made everyone you met feel respected! Your beaming smile and warmth touched everyone you encountered. I marveled at your sincere kindness, work ethic and genuine caring. Love you girl, you make my heart smile. Till then, much love and peace. - Posted by: Lori Robertson (friend and colleague) on: Jan 04, 2012

I had the pleasure of working alongside Velma for a few years. She was exceptionally talented at her many duties she performed (often simultaneously), and I will always remember her quiet kindnesses to people and her awesome sense of humour. - Posted by: Kimberley Froese (colleague) on: Jan 03, 2012

Velma was one of a small group of high school friends (Darlene, Mary, Charlen and myself Carol)that hung out together for the pass 35 years - we kept in touch over the years and were always there for each other - we would sometimes only see each other in person every 5-10 years like getting together for our 30-40- and 50th birthdays but when we did get together it was like no time had passed and we all were able to just pick up our friendship like we saw each other weekly. Velma will for ever be in our hearts - rest in peace our dear friend. - Posted by: Carol Atkinson-Thomas (Long time friend) on: Jan 02, 2012
