Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH MARY SCHULTZ (nee STANTON) October 27, 1927 - December 28, 2011 Ruth passed away peacefully on the morning of December 28, 2011 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, at the age of 84 years. Ruth was born and raised in Treherne, MB. She moved to Winnipeg where she met and married her husband Ed. Together they moved to Regina, then Billings, Montana and eventually settled in Calgary. Their first born, Grant gave them two granddaughters, Cassie and Makenzie. Their next son was Dan, and finally Tom, who gave them a grandson Riley, and another granddaughter Hannah. Ruth is survived by her loving husband Ed, sisters Evelyn and Lorna, and a brother Clarence. She also has numerous nephews and nieces. Ruth is predeceased by her brothers Frank and Herbert. Ruth was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed her bridge but was attuned to her love of travel. She and Ed covered most of Canada from the East to the West coasts as well as major excursions to Europe, the Bahamas, the Florida Keys, and a couple of winters in the California desert. They were joined by Ruth's sisters in Hawaii, Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. Though she suffered Ed's trips to Mexico, she was patient and uncomplaining as he scrambled the pyramids and disappeared for hours with his photography. Ruth was, above all, a rather private person. She did not relish a formal observation of her passing. So, following her request, there will not be a funeral service. A private family service will be held. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Calgary, Suite 201, 222 - 58th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3, Telephone: (403)290-0110, www.alzheimercalgary.com. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com In living memory of Ruth Schultz, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W., Calgary, AB Telephone: 1-800-661-1599
