HELEN ELIZABETH BROWNE September 15, 1929 - December 30, 2011 Peacefully, Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Browne, devoted wife of Kenneth Browne passed away at Concordia Hospital on Friday, December 30, 2011, with her entire family by her side. Betty was born in Calgary, Alberta, and the oldest of three children. She is survived by her two brothers, Charles (Maria) and George (Ramona). Betty is also survived by her nine children, Richard (Sandy), Donna (Danny), Trina (Ron), Patricia (Bill), Annalee, Howard, Timothy (Ngar), Thomas (Susan) and Shawn (Krystal); stepchildren Carol (Loyd), Jimmy (Lorie), and Donny. Betty also leaves this world with the love of her 25 surviving grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She now joins her previously deceased grandson, William McCluskey. Betty was colorful and unconventional; if others march to the beat of their own drum, she had the backing of a full marching band. She loved horses, Patsy Cline, shiny jewelry, fashionable clothes, and any conversation. She was passionate, intelligent, compassionate and stubborn. Mom was a story-teller, minstrel, fashionista and diva. Most importantly though, she had unlimited capacity to love and be loved; if you ever met her you could never forget her. It was Mom's wish that her only memorial be a celebration of her life in the form of a wake. Her friends and family gathered to reminisce, laugh and pay tribute to a life fully lived.
