MARIA KAZUBEK (nee GROSSMAN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Kazubek on January 2, 2012, at Seven Oaks Hospital, just 10 days shy of her 90th birthday. Maria is survived by six children; Linda (Ray), Karl (Aline), Rick (Shirley), Steve (Karen), Caroline (Fred), and Debbie (Doug), as well as 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. January 2 is now a poignant day of remembrance as our mother and father (Marjan) both passed away on the same day, 29 years apart. She was also predeceased by two children, Harold and Erika. Maria was born in the Black Forest region in the town of Darmstad, Germany on January 12, 1922. She and Marjan were married and immigrated to Canada in 1956, making their home in Winnipeg. Maria enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren. She realized a lifelong dream of traveling to both Hawaii and Las Vegas. The family wish to thank Dr. Ricardo Lobato de Faria and all the staff of Seven Oaks Emergency for their attention and efforts to comfort our Mom at her time of need and all Home Care staff for their care and support. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will take place on Thursday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. The things we feel so dearly, are the hardest things to say, But we your family love you in a very special way. Please God, put your arms around her and keep her in your care, Make up for what she missed on earth and all that was not fair. God saw you getting tired So He wrapped His arms around you And whispered Come to Me 586-8044

Rick has been with Red River for 37 years and over the years has shared many stories of how wonderful his mother was. One of the most recent ones was that Rick had to make sure that she had enough cash throughout the holidays so she could include it in the Christmas cards to the people who helped her in her daily routine. God bless you and your family Rick. - Posted by: Red River Packaging (Family) on: Jan 05, 2012
