Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE (LALLY) MURRAY (nee FEE) September 6, 1922 - December 19, 2011 Lorraine Murray (Lally) died gracefully, on December 19 as she had lived. The youngest of four children, she was born in St. Hyacinthe, and attended Trafalgar School for Girls where she made lifelong friends. After marrying Dick Murray she moved to Washington, DC, then New York, then ultimately Winnipeg. After adjusting to the shock of moving from New York she enjoyed Winnipeg life - skating, riding, collecting quilts and volunteer work at Middlechurch Home and the Charleswood Riding Club. She soon had a vast circle of friends. She got the family a Newfoundland dog, Raddison (Raddy), who used to pull the children on a toboggan. Lally was beautiful, dignified and easy to love. She used to turn out witty letters on her famous blue notepaper on her Underwood typewriter to her many loyal friends. Always a good sport, she loved Frank Sinatra, china, bridge, French antiques and fabulous clothes. Lally lived in Montreal for the last 30 years of her life. In her final years her sweet good nature still shone forth despite the effects of Alzheimer's. As one of her friends said, I can't imagine the world without Lally. She leaves two daughters Madeleine Irene Murray and Lorraine Marie Murray and two grandsons Orlando Murray and Nicholas John Murray. A service in celebration of her life took place in Montreal on December 28. Lally had a soft heart for the homeless. Donations may be made to emergency homeless shelters.
