JUNE RITA HARRIS (ANDREWS) -
Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE RITA HARRIS (nee ANDREWS) 1929 - 2011 On December 27, 2011 at the Golden Links Lodge, God in his mercy helped June advance to the Kingdom of Heaven after 82 years of life. While she is profoundly missed by family, we take comfort knowing she is reunited with loved ones who passed before her and that she is now free from physical and cognitive limitations she struggled to function with since her second stroke in August, 2007. A devoted wife to Jim for 61 years, she supported many moves across western Canada during Jim's career. Glenda and Drew (Kathy) were blessed to have an extraordinarily loving, caring mother. June was adored Nana to Adam, Jimmy and Leanne. Her friendly, kind, generous and helpful nature led to many friendships both June and Jim cherished over the years. She maintained a close relationship with sisters Myrtle and Edna and their families. June will also be missed by brother-in-law Art (Bernice), and sister-in-law Elinor (Bert) and their families. June was happiest when spending time with friends and family or helping others. She was a quick wit, bantering and teasing Jim daily. She loved a great get-together and a glass of wine! June believed strongly in the power of prayer, and was part of St. Mary Magdalene Parish's prayer quads for many years. Special thanks to Barbara Crow whose regular visits the past few years enabled June to take communion and feel the continued love of the church family. The family wishes to thank Golden Links Lodge staff for their care and patience over the past 13 months. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of June's life will occur at a later date. Donations to the charity of one's choice in June's memory are gratefully acknowledged by her family. Dear Jim, Glenda and Leanne: I was so very sorry to hear of June's passing. I did not know her well but one of my best memories of her was when Glenda, June and Leanne came to visit several years ago. I met them in their hotel room and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with a nice glass of wine and LOTS of laughs. She was such a lovely lady and surely 'rubbed off' on her wonderful daughter and granddaughter! My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Lots of love and hugs are being sent your way. - Posted by: Darlene Marshall (Friend) on: Jan 13, 2012

Auntie June, I regret how little time I had for you after you got sick. I'd always say; "I'll go see her later with mom" and later was, of course, too late..... I know you don't hold it against me, but I still really wish I could've just seen you to tell you how great you are and what an important part of my family you were growing up. Darcie and I will always fondly remember your sense of humour and boxing day family get togethers in the basement of the house. I miss you alot and hope that you're happier wherever you've chosen to drink your wine now. Love you very much, Auntie June. Peace be with you. - Posted by: Patrick Rivers (Great Nephew) on: Jan 10, 2012

I will always remember your fiery personality, and spending boxing day at your place. You were a wonderful wife, mother, and especially grandmother - it's easy to tell when you look at the people you spent your lives with. Rest easy, Auntie June. xoxo - Posted by: Darcie Rivers (Great Niece) on: Jan 10, 2012
