Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONILA MARANAN January 17, 1949 - January 3, 2012 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and daughter Leonila Encarnacion Maranan, aged 62, on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Leony will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Juanito, children Jayson (Kim) and Lillian (Erid), and grandchildren Keanan, Yacine, Jordan, Senia and Karmyn. Also left to cherish her memory are, her father Luciano Encarnacion, mother-in-law Pacita Maranan, siblings Mely (Josef) Linden, Inching (Narding) Villanueva, Metring (Linda), Myrna Cerna, Felix (Baby), Boy Ascuncion, Lerma (Lino) Umandap and Gina (Joel) Mendoza, as well as numerous in-laws and extended relatives in Winnipeg and the Philippines. She is predeceased by her mother Engracia Encarnacion, and her sister Paulina Ascuncion. Leony was born on January 17, 1949 in Agoncillo, Batangas, and at age 23, she left the Philippines to begin her new life in Canada. Together with her husband, they raised their children, and over the years, worked to reunite all of the Encarnacion and Maranan family together in Winnipeg. Despite the progression of her illness, she displayed amazing physical strength and courage, and lifted the spirits of those around her with her gentle, caring smile. She remained involved in church activities, and she poured her love and devotion to the entire family, especially her grandchildren. Lamay (wake) will be held on Thursday, January 12, and Friday, January 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St, with Fr. Michael Koryluk as celebrant. Internment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Houston and nurse Barb (CancerCare); Dr Lamba, Dr. Bueti and Dr. Bshouty (Health Sciences Centre); and Drs.
