Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE IRENE DUNKLEY (nee MCINTYRE) (ANDREWS) It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Marjorie on January 5, 2012, our beloved mum, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma, at age 93. Lovingly remembered by sons, Bill (Barb) Andrews, George Andrews (Linda), grandchildren Bob, Karen, Brian, Sidney, Sandra, Lora, Kim, Cheryl, Scott, and Krystle; many great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter; sisters Elsie Parisian of Victoria Beach and Meryl Taylor of Antigonish, NS; brothers Ken of Black Diamond, AB and Ray of Nelson, BC; dear friend Judy; along with many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by husbands, Howard Andrews and George Dunkley; daughter Eileen Leithwood; grandson Neil Andrews; parents Syd and Pearl (Bass) McIntyre. Born in LaRiviere, MB on July 30, 1918 she moved to the Stonewall area with her parents a few years later. She was 15 when she got her first job and worked in various domestic jobs before she married Howard Andrews on May 12, 1938. They moved to Kirkfield Park where they raised their three children. She worked for 15 years at Deer Lodge Hospital, was active in Kirkfield Park United Church and loved bowling. After Howard's death, in 1974, she married George Dunkley August 25, 1979 and they were together 10 years before he passed away. During their marriage they golfed three times a week, travelled, danced every weekend, and bowled three times a week. They had a little trailer at Netley Lake. Marjorie had a great sense of humour, was kind and compassionate and was a bundle of energy. Even while she had been ill when asked how she was she'd reply, Oh I can't complain. She was strong and courageous right till the end. She was a joy and inspiration to all who met her. A special thank you to the doctor's and nurses at the Grace Hospital who cared for her, she always spoke so fondly of you and wanted to do something special for you. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation.

I will fondly remember Marjorie for her devotion to family. She was at every family reunion, ready with stories to make the past come alive for us. She loved her family and was so very proud of all her children and grandchildren. Hers was a life well lived, she was an example to all she met. She touched a lot of lives, including my own. It was an honour to know her! - Posted by: Linda Guest (cousin) on: Jan 07, 2012

I only knew Mrs. Dunkley as the McIntyre lady from Stonewall. We lived in the same building. I also grew up in the Stonewall area and we had several chats in which she would reminisce about her childhood, where the family lived and she would describe in detail where she went to school. It was a joy to have known her. - Posted by: Jane Langtry (neighbour) on: Jan 07, 2012
