ROBERT (MICKEY) MITCHELL It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Mickey on December 31, 2011, at Riverview Health Centre, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 43 years, Dale, his much loved daughters Erynne, Cherise and Jodie and his cherished granddaughters, Chelsea, Megan and Tess. He also leaves to mourn his sisters Carol and Shellee (San Diego) and his brothers Martin (Vancouver) and Harvey, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. Mickey was predeceased by his mother Pearl and his father Morris. Mickey was born in Winnipeg, October 18, 1946. He loved the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Manitoba Moose and the old and new Winnipeg Jets hockey teams. He was employed in sales and management his entire working career. He spent the last 17 years with First Phase Data. Cremation has taken place. A family memorial and interment service will be held at a later date. Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. A. Maksymiuk, his nurse Megan, and the nurses, staff and volunteers at CancerCare Manitoba as well as the angels at Riverview who were so gentle with him. The family would also like to thank Dr. Anna Rothova for her compassionate care of Mickey over the years. We also acknowledge and thank Gerald and Sharon and the staff at First Phase Data for their compassion, visits and support of Mickey during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to CancerCare Manitoba or The Winnipeg Humane Society. Good night My Love, sweet dreams. I promise you I will wake up in your arms again.

Mickey was one of the good guys. I had the privilege of working with Mickey for a number of years as a supplier to First Phase Data. We always joked and kibitzed about Jewish Humour and regular every day nonsense. I was thinking of him today and thought I should look him up and give him a call, not knowing what had happened. I knew he was sick, but was hoping he was able to beat the odds. Regards from a friend. - Posted by: Michael Sheinfeld (Colleague) on: Oct 07, 2014

I remember the days that Mickey used to come to the office to visit with his sister Carol. It was always so nice to see his smiling face and to listen to his stories. You will be missed. Rest in peace, free of pain. Sincere regards, Cindy Hoover - Posted by: Cindy Hoover (friend of sister Carol) on: Jan 08, 2012

Mickey was a great father, husband and friend, I always enjoyed my time over at the Mitchell's place in my younger years. We always had a laugh with Mickey. Enjoyed each time I ran into him and Dale over the years, always greeted with a great big hug, I will miss that. My deepest condolences to the Mitchell's may you find peace at this very hard time.
