NORMAN ROBERT FIELD On Saturday, January 7, 2012, Norman died at the Grace Hospital at the age of 75 years. In compliance with Norm's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service.

NORMAN ROBERT FIELD October 4, 1936 - January 7, 2012 On Saturday, January 7, 2012 Norman died at the Grace Hospital at the age of 75 years. Left to mourn Norm's passing are his loving wife Julie and children: Carole (Mike), grandchildren Amanda and Bradly; Kevin (Lesley); Susan (Lyle) and grandson Christopher (Brian Nott); Jeffrey and special critter Jenny; sister Carole Cooke (Bob); as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Norm was a long-time St. James resident. He worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines before joining Canadian Linen where he worked for 23 years, retiring at age 60. Norm loved all sports, especially hockey. Whether it was volunteering at the Crestview Community Club when his children were young or watching Don Cherry on Hockey Night in Canada. A lover of nature, Norm fulfilled a life-long dream by building his Empire in the Wilderness' (cottage) in Northwestern Ontario. Tea-time with the neighbours in The Bush' was a time for swapping stories and tall tales. With his wit, generosity and kindness, Norm was a real charmer. He will be greatly missed. In compliance with Norm's wishes there will be no Funeral Service. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Bishay at the Assiniboine Medical Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norm's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
