EVA HAZEL ROZIERE (LAMARCHE) It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Eva Roziere on January 6, 2012 at the age of 87. Eva was predeceased by her daughter Lorraine. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Andre, her sons Denis (Susan) and Marc, daughters Louise, Rolande (John) and Yvonne (Ray), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Eva was born in Winnipeg on October 30, 1924. She married Andre on July 20, 1946. Together they raised six children. Eva has always had a place in her heart for Andre. She began her teaching career at the age of 17, in a one room school house, in Starbuck, MB. She returned to Winnipeg to attend Normal School to complete her teaching certificate. She spent many years teaching elementary and reading resource at Archwood School. Her last years were spent teaching special needs children at H.L.Softly School. She retired from teaching with the Norwood school division after 30 years. For eight years she was a member of O.C.O.D. and spent her summers instructing teachers in St. Lucia, Nevis and Guyana. For several years she was an active member for the National Board of C.C.O.D.P. Eva is a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis of Assissi, and spent much of her time at what is now known as the House of Peace. She was a lay member of the Sisters of the Holy Names. She was an active member as a lay minister and reader of St. Ignatius Church. Eva was a world traveller and an avid bridge player. She spent the last years of her life enjoying her family and friends. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church. A reception and interment to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital M.I.C.U for their care.
