ROLAND LEE MALLETTE
Date of Passing: Jan 07, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROLAND LEE MALLETTE Peacefully on January 7, 2012, at the age of 36, our precious son, brother, uncle and friend Roland Lee Mallette (Rolly) began his journey into the spirit world. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather and grandmother Sam and Vera Mallette, maternal grandfather Reginald Murdock, Aunt Deanna, Uncle Neil and cousin Erica. He will be greatly missed by his mother Teresa Mallette, father Russ Mallette (Gloria), brother Rusty (Kea), sister Sheri (Sam), and two nephews Dante and Caylem. When he was a little boy, he loved riding his bike and would often try sneak off to visit his Granny and Grandpa Murdock where he would be treated to a snack and get to help his Mushoom with woodworking. He was also adored by his Granny Vera and loved watching hockey and having tea and cookies with her. Roland was from Fisher River Cree Nation and then resided in Winnipeg with family and then in a home run by St. Amant in Garden City, to attend school and work. He graduated from Garden City Collegiate in 1996 and began a work program at WASO, which he attended since graduation and made many special friends with staff and co-workers. He had a love for simple things in life such as stuffed animals, Big Macs, puzzles and movies, and loved to haul and carry them everywhere he went. He shared a very special bond with his brother Rusty and his face lit up when Rusty would go over to visit with a Big Mac to watch movies with him. He also had many good times with his cousins Vanessa, Mitch and Ashley and Auntie Lynn, who was his second family, while he attended school at Lord Roberts in Winnipeg. He was a delightful young boy that became a man like no other, and will forever be remembered for his courage, strength, resilience, and love. Wake service will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 and Funeral Service on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Steven's Memorial United Church in Fisher River Cree Nation. Cremation to follow. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. Fisher Branch, MB (204) 372-6271 or 372-6803

My thoughts and prayers go to Roland's family. Caring for Roland has made me a better person. Taking him to Disney World and to swim in the ocean has changed my life. My heart is so heavy to learn of his passing and I can only hope that my little munchkin is at peace. God Speed Rolly.
