I enjoyed many playing gigs with Gene in the early years of the Tip Top group - with Alice Morrisey, Earl McNab and sometimes Herman Bissett. Gene was a very happy guy on the bandstand and I always think of him when I hear the opening lyrics ("I've got an old felt hat") for 'Just Bummin Around'. Good on ya Geno!
