R. BRIAN BENNETT 1931 - 2012 Brian passed away at Rockyview Hospital on January 7, 2012 after bravely struggling with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Beverley; two sons: Richard (Sandra) of Vancouver, Gordon (Cathy) of Victoria; two daughters: Jill of Calgary, Lynne of Mississauga; one grandchild, Melissa; and his brother Donald of Toronto. He spent his entire working career in the packaging industry in Sales and Marketing, first with MacMillan Bloedel and then with Purity Packaging. Many moves and transfers around the country followed. During the Regina years he was involved with the Kiwanis Club and refereeing football. In Winnipeg he coached hockey which he greatly enjoyed. During his retirement years in Calgary, he was a faithful volunteer with the Red Cross (1305-11 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T3C 3P6) and then with the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank (5000 - 11 Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 2Y5). Memorial donations in Brian's name may be made directly to these organizations. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
