I just learned of Jim's passing and would like to express my condolences to Eunice and the family. Jim was my boss when I was stationed in Winnipeg GIS from 1977 to 1980. He was well respected and was a man of integrity. Jim was very inspirational in me choosing my career path and I will always remember our conversations. Keep his memories alive. - Posted by: Charles Tortola (RCMP member retired) on: Mar 03, 2012

I was a young married Constable at Killarney, Manitoba in 1960 and shared some night patrols and investigations with Jim while he was at Boissevain detachment. The Magistrate lived and worked out of Boissevain so we had a lot of court appearances. I have fond memories of a warm welcome from both Eunice and Jim to stop for a cup of tea and a biscuit and some chit-chat. I later worked with him at Brandon, Manitoba and car-pooled to/from work at Brandon Sub/Division. Jim had a wicked sense of humour and a deep-down laugh I will always remember. A kind and gentle man. Condolences to Eunice and the family. Rest in Peace, Jim. - Posted by: Gary Nicholson (Fellow RCMP member (retired)) on: Jan 24, 2012

I have many memories of Uncle Jim, but one that comes to mind was when I was around 14 or 15 yrs. old visiting. I was in the bedroom when Jim opened the door and said... " Oh Dennis I'm ever glad to see you, You know I'm surrounded by just women here". Listening to what he was saying to me with such pronounced cadence will forever stick with me, because at the time I didn't know whether to laugh or offer some words of comfort. He always treated me as a young man not a young child and for that he will always have my love and respect. Rest in Peace Uncle Jim. I have many memories of Jim and his young family when they lived in Boissevain. Lori was the only daughter at the time and I was asked to babysit her one night. Well she decided she was not going to sleep until her Dad had given her a good-night kiss. Guess who was sitting on the couch at midnight when her Mom and Dad came home!! I don't remember being asked again to babysit!! He was also a very good RCMP in my eyes. He picked me up a few times but always let me go!! He will be missed. I would be at the funeral but I am out for the winter in Victoria, BC. Sharon - Posted by: Sharon ( Kilmury ) Biddiscombe (I am a cousin to Eunice) on: Jan 18, 2012
