TENA (KATHY) BOKLAGE (GUENTHER)
Born: Jan 23, 1942
Date of Passing: Jan 14, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTENA (KATHY) BOKLAGE (nee GUENTHER) January 23, 1942 - January 14, 2012 After many years of discomfort, Kathy peacefully completed her journey of life surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Left to cherish Kathy's memory is her husband Len, of 52 years of marriage; children, Kim (Russ) and Philip; grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) and Tabitha; as well as her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Susan and Isaac Guenther; and sister Diane. Kathy was born in Saskatchewan, the oldest girl and second oldest of 12 children. She was a wonderful wife and the best stay at home Mom for most of her years but enjoyed working part-time on and off occasionally through her life. Mom enjoyed crafts, gardening, cake decorating, quilting, bingo, fishing, reading, dancing and socializing in general. Always ready to give advice and help out wherever she could, she had a very big heart. She enjoyed a good joke and retained her sense of humour until the end. Kathy took great joy in spending time with her family. A Funeral Service will be held in Kathy's hometown of Calgary in March. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital ICU and 3rd floor. Special thanks is extended to Drs. Kumar, Mallick (the Fonz) and Solomon; nurses, Tammy, Andrea and especially Erin; as well as to Pastor Bruce and Nancy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy's memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.

It is unfortunate we did not get to know each as well as I would have liked to. There is one vivid memory I have of you Tena, and that is when you and some of your sisters and brothers would come and spend your summer holidays with us on the farm where we lived east of Hague, SK. I remember how much you enjoyed it. Rest in peace Tena. - Posted by: Sarah Wall (Dyck) (Cousin) on: Feb 21, 2012
