SHOI MAN LEUNG Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Shoi Man Leung passed away in Winnipeg on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the age of 89, at Concordia Hospital. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Yue Yiu; his children Linda (Peter), Julie (Gilbert), Connie (David), Patrick (Pauline) and Helen (Lonn); his nine grandchildren, and, three great-grandchildren. Born in Toi Sun, China, Dad was a hard working and industrious person. He was a brave and courageous man who lived a full and happy life. Having worked as a successful chef and entrepreneur in the restaurant business, he spent some time in Hong Kong, Brazil and later immigrated to Canada with his family in the 1970s. Dad loved to travel, play mah jong, watch soccer and football and spending time with his family, of whom he was very proud. In retirement, he also enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren in Ottawa, Vancouver and El Paso, Texas. Visitation will be on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chinese United Church, 281 Pacific Avenue. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
