Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE MARY HARDY (nee MURRAY) It is with deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Cathie Hardy on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Vernon General Hospital. Cathie was predeceased by her husband, Jack, brother, Ian; and parents, Mary Anne and Alex Murray. She is survived by her two daughters, Elspeth Haid (husband, Harry; and sons, Don and Ben) and Alix Barnett (husband, Iain; son, Aaron (Andrea); and daughter, Jacqueline). Born in Thunder Bay in 1924, Cathie married her high school sweetheart, Jack, in 1945. Upon Jack's transfer to Winnipeg in 1950, they settled in St. Vital, making many lifelong friends with neighbours on Glenlawn Ave. A stay-at-home mom, Cathie's life centered on her girls and husband. Cathie and Jack moved to B.C. in the early 1970s, later retiring in Vernon. Upon Jack's death in 2006, Cathie continued to live comfortably in Vernon with her daughter Alix. Respecting her wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
