Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH MARIE (BETTY) NIXON Elizabeth Marie (Betty) Nixon, beloved wife of John Kendal (Jack) Nixon, passed away on January 19, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Born in Winnipeg, Betty worked at CKRC radio and modeled at Eaton's prior to marrying Jack in 1945. Jack and Betty moved to Vancouver in 1972 to get away from the cold winters and then to Lethbridge in 1996 to be closer to family. Betty was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening and painting with water colours. She loved to read and liked to spend winters in Palm Springs with Jack. Betty was predeceased by her parents Bill and Mickey Cruse, and by her brother Lorne. She is survived by her husband Jack and her three children: Lizbeth Nixon of Winnipeg, Martin (Nicole) Nixon of Neepawa, and Ken (Karla) Nixon of Lethbridge; her sister Gail (Fred) Coward of Lethbridge; grandchildren Adam (Sylvie) Nixon, Sarah Overton, and Josh Nixon; step-grandchildren Paul Millar and Julie Millar; great-grandchildren Fiona and Katherine Nixon, and Travis Overton; sister-in-law Evelyn (Ernie) Waller, and Ev's daughter Wendy Cain. Following cremation, a summer interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg. Flowers are gratefully declined. Kendall, we were so sad to hear of your Mom's passing. We enjoyed the company of your parents on many occasions, especially our visit to Palm Springs. Betty was a gracious lady and always commanded our respect.
