Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE HAWRYLYSHEN Suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the age of 73 years, Maurice Hawrylyshen passed away with his wife, Beverley Wozny, at his side. He was born in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba on August 9, 1938 the eighth child of Michael and Anastasia (Marak) Hawrylyshen. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Berg, Lisa (Ken Sitko), Angela (Joey) Bohun; son Randy (Catherine) Hawrylyshen; stepchildren, Kimberly (Jeff) Chetyrbok, and Cory (Stacey) Wozny; grandchildren, Mindy (Vance), Amanda, Michael (Kayla); Derek (Tara); Travis, Collin and Lee; and Jacqueline, and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Payton, and Imogen; Emma; Tanner; Carson and Tori; and Alexander, Sean and Eilis. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Anastasia Hawrylyshen; his brothers, Wasyl (Bill) and Dmytro (Matt); sisters, Elsie Proskin and Anne Gashyna; brother-in-law, Steve Balyk; sisters-in-law, Sallee Hawrylyshen and Zanovia Hawrylyshen; son-in-law, Gordon Berg, and great-grandchild, Maddy. He is survived by his brothers, Ernie (Helen) of Calgary, and Alvin of Kelowna; sisters, Victoria Balyk and Shirley (Matt) Chychowski; brother-in-law, Nick Gashyna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was raised on the family farm in Gilbert Plains and continued farming until 1985. He moved to Dauphin and worked for a time in construction and later as a health care aide until his retirement in September 2003. He and Bev enjoyed visiting friends and family and travelling to places like Mexico, Hawaii, Prince Edward Island, and Florida as well as spending many days and nights at The Lake of the Prairies with good friends playing cards and fishing. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place at the Msgr. G. Oucharyk Auditorium (basement) at the Ukrainian Catholic Church Resurrection, 801 Jackson Street, Dauphin, Manitoba on Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m., with lunch to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may be made by contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Services had care of arrangements.

So many warm and cherished memories, where do we start. Fishing at the lake, playing cards at night, watching Robin Williams' tapes for the millionth time..I will always remember and cherish our trips to Detroit Lakes to get a deal, we had so much fun.
