LINDA MCLENNAN It is with a very heavy and sad heart that we say goodbye to Linda. She passed away peacefully after a short, unexpected illness on January 25, 2012. Linda will be missed deeply by her children Justin and Brandi (Glenn), and her granddaughters Elizabeth and Kaitlyn who cherished her greatly. Linda will especially be missed by her siblings Maxine (Peter), Connie (Bob), Marion, Jim (Emily), George (Marva), Rick (Nikki). She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Anne (Keith), best friend Jo, as well as her numerous nephews and nieces. Linda was loved by all that knew her. Her spirit would fill the room and her smile would light up those around her. Linda was a strong woman whose positive attitude inspired others. Linda's large family was matched by her numerous friends including her two breakfast clubs, and others she met through her work at different schools. Linda's greatest joy in life was her granddaughters. Her recent move to Calgary allowed her to spend most days laughing and playing with them. She was never happier. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to The Arthritis Society. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Linda was a good person. She worked in the classroom at Dalhousie School first as a volunteet for me when I was teaching her two children, Justin and Brandi. Later I spent time with her as a friend. Please accept my sincerest sympathies in her passing. Sincerely Marilynne Martin - Posted by: Marilynne Martin (friend and colleague) on: Feb 17, 2012

  • Next door neighbours for twelve years, children born at a similar time, being stay at home Moms. and Linda's generous friendly ways cemented our friendship to last 41 years. We shared the early years of child rearing and many a coffee at Linda's. She always had a way with children and so she did so well in aiding in the school system. Linda remained my steadfast friend even when I moved to Alberta. I was so happy to have her closer only to lose her so soon. I will miss her. I send condolences to all her family as they grieve. - Posted by: Dale Dawson (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2012

  • Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to Linda's immediate and extended family. I have, and always will treasure the nearly 65 years of knowing Linda as a true friend. She never missed a chance to offer her support during difficult times in our family. Memories of Linda will be with me for the rest of my days. - Posted by: Len & Phyllis Klassen (Life-long friend) on: Feb 01, 2012

  • Our deepest sympathy to Linda's family. She was truly a remarkable friend and person. She thought far more of others than herself. I always enjoyed our visits to hear about her family, the love of her life. So glad she was able to spend her last few months living closer to her grandchildren. - Posted by: Marlene Miller (nee Sheard) (friend since high school) on: Jan 28, 2012

  • As long as I have known Linda, she has been a valuable and trustworthy friend. I met Linda when I taught at Delhousie School. I was also privileged to teach her children. Linda, rest in Peace in the loving arms of God. I will miss you greatly and cherish the many pleasant memories of time spent together. My prayers go out to the children and family. • Linda was an integral part of the Ryerson School community. Her gentle and compassionate way has been missed but not forgotten. I extend our sympathies and share a quote from Helen Keller. "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." - Posted by: Sheena Braun (Ryerson Colleagues) on: Jan 27, 2012

  • A gracious self-less, humble soul has left our planet. A friendly smile, wonderful sense of humor and an understanding compassion for everyone, especially children were definitely her trademarks. It goes without saying that she made a difference and will genuinely be missed by so many of us. I remembered how thrilled she was to become a grandmother and I loved hearing the play by play of her stories about the girls and her grown children whenever our paths crossed. Our most heartfelt sympathy to the whole family for your great loss. Sincerely, Cindy Nachtigall and family - Posted by: Cindy Nachtigall (Friend and co-worker) on: Jan 27, 2012
