JOHN ANDREW SEAMCHUK July 3, 1925 - January 7, 2012 With family by his side, John passed away at the Grace Hospital on Ukrainian Christmas, January 7, 2012. John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Irene; daughters Lorraine Mather (Brian), Cindy Natuik (Ken); sons Greg Seamchuk (Jane, Daniel), John Seamchuk (Michele) and grandsons Scott Mather (Amber), Corey Mather (Amanda) and Graeme Mather. John was predeceased by his mother Barbara, his father Andrew and his sisters Nina, Nettie and Sonia. John was born in the Ukraine and moved to Canada with his family when he was 11 years old. John worked as a mason until his retirement. In his retirement years, John filled his days with gardening, cooking and walking for miles every day. John loved nature and was most at peace at his cabin near Gimli. Living across the street from his grandsons Scott, Corey and Graeme gave John a great sense of joy. He enjoyed taking them fishing and taught them everything he knew about gardening. We would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place with private interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
