Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTIMOTHY JOHN (T.J.) HIGHFIELD January 27, 1976 - January 23, 2012 Timothy John (T.J.) Highfield tragically passed away at 4:30 p.m. on January 23, 2012 at the age of 34 years. He is lovingly remembered by his family: son, Jesse Highfield; father, Fred (Michelle and daughter Jolie) Highfield; mother, Carol Meyer; brothers, Jim (Lisa) Aune and Jeff Highfield; grandmother, Ethel Highfield; uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. T.J. was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB and grew up in Flin Flon and Thompson. T.J.'s spirit was honoured with his family's decision to donate his organs to those who needed them to extend their own lives. We know he would be pleased to help heal others, as he loved taking machines apart to see how they worked and was always eager to fix anything broken. He enjoyed spending time at his family's cabin fishing and cutting trails, and going to the Highfield farm to hunt. He was well known for his million dollar ideas, and often called his grandmother to help hone his culinary skills. His family will remember his ready grin and his insistence on living his life on his own terms. A private interment will be held in Ste. Rose this summer. Donations in T.J.'s memory may be made to a trust fund for his son, Jesse, at any Royal Bank via account #003-01567-5042205, or can be mailed in the names of either Fred or Jeff Highfield (c/o Jesse Highfield) to: P.O. Box 1489, Warman SK, S0K 4S0. T.J.'s family would like to thank the EMTs; the police detachments in Flin Flon and Creighton; the emergency staff of the Flin Flon General Hospital; the captain, crew and flight nurses of the Medevac aircraft from Flin Flon to Saskatoon; Peggy McKee and the Saskatchewan Transplant Program; and the emergency staff, trauma team and ICU staff of the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for their kindness, thoughtfulness and respect in their treatment of T.J. and their care of his family. We would also like to thank Dave and Deb of Mayfair United Church, and all our family, friends and co-workers for their support and comfort. To know that transplant teams flew in from Edmonton and Toronto, that T.J.'s organs will be able to help others live, and the outstanding level of dignity, quality of care and respect that was given to T.J. while he waited to donate his organs has helped us to take some solace in his loss. We encourage all families to ask their loved ones to consider organ donation. We love you T.J., and hope you have found the peace you were looking for.
