Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ANDREW DEDA March 29, 1922 - January 27, 2012 It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Peter on Friday, January 27, 2012, at the age of 89. Peter was born to Andrew and Aniela Deda in St. Claude, Manitoba, one of seven children. As a determined young man, Peter left home at the age of sixteen to work as a farmhand. He worked until he was able to purchase his own farm in Crystal City in 1950. It was there that he met his spunky Australian wife, Beryl and raised their three children. For twenty-six years Peter took great pride in his farm in which he was very successful, and also in his family. In 1976, they sold their farm and moved to Pincher Creek, Alberta, where they have been residing to this day. Peter worked as a realtor with Chief Mountain Realty, and he was very involved in his church, in the Lion's Club, and in various community organizations. Peter will be remembered for his kind heart, fun loving spirit, outgoing personality, and strong work ethic. Peter is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beryl; his children, Charlotte (Mike) Ivancic of Calgary, Katie (Doug) Markus of Whitefish, and Stephen (Joanne) Deda of Calgary. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Daniel, Alexandra, and Drew Markus; Joshua, Michaila and Elisa Ivancic; and Grayson, Payton, and Talyn Deda; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Peter is also survived by his sister, Nancy Kirkpatrick of Vancouver and his sister-in-law, Reine Deda of Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank the ladies in Cottage C at Vista Village for all the comfort, care and concern that they gave to their father and grandfather over the past two years, and especially over the past few months. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the fellowship hall. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Good Samaritan's Society- Vista Village, P.O. Box 1510, Pincher Creek, Alberta T0K 1W0. We were so sorry to hear of Peter's passing. He was a great friend of our family and he was part of our life growing up on the farm. He and my father shared many memories and experiences.
