Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE DALGLEISH It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of George Dalgleish peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg George is survived by his beloved wife, Diane, of 51 years, who loved and cared for him deeply. Sharing life together, his smiles, sincere words of praise, listening and caring will be special memories of my best friend. He was predeceased by his mother in 2008 and his father in 2010. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Laverne (Karen); his sisters, Elise (Wilf), Faith, Cindy (Dale); all of who respected his positive cheerful and generous nature; also many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He worked in the Renovation Business for many years, however, his faith and ministry were his main focus. While his family and many friends will miss him; we all look forward to the time we will see him again when Jehovah God's promise will be fulfilled of a resurrection to a paradise on earth as recorded in The Bible at John 5:28,29. George firmly believed in this hope. We want to express our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to ALL, in the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their loving care, support and friendship given to George and I. Your kindness, hugs and continual acts of thoughtfulness will be among my treasured memories. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall Complex of Jehovah's Witnesses, 227 Lakewood Blvd. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.

Diane, your name keeps coming to mind lately. I googled George's name and learned the sad news. My beloved Neil passed away May 2013, so I share your loss in a real way. I too believe that we will be together in eternity and look forward to that day. This is probably way too late for you to ever see it, but I had to try. Blessings, Maureen - Posted by: Maureen (Stiles) Bulloch (Diane's friend from Eatons, many years ago) on: Aug 06, 2014

Dear Diane and Family: I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Today, tears of sadness, very soon tears of joy, when we welcome back our dear loved ones. We enjoyed the fellowship of you and George. It does span many years. We always enjoyed his visits, when he found himself in London. Wish you could have been with him. While I do not know your pain, I do know it is so painful to lose your best friend. May Jehovah's Holy Spirit give you the strength you need in the days that lie ahead of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Pat Green - Posted by: Pat Green () on: Feb 19, 2012

George was great. When I was in my early 20s back in the 80s he was definitely one of my mentors and kind of an idol for his TV and Radio shows. It was very uplifting and a true honor when he brought me on his TV show and radio show as a product expert. It meant so much to a young man and he helped it be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I have never forgotten George and am saddened by his passing. George gave so much of himself to others. - Posted by: Mark Gladue (Old business acquaintance) on: Feb 18, 2012

My big brother, George, was a very good man and a great brother! George and Diane - cared and loved me like their own daughter - something that I deeply cherish and treasure. They were very generous and always kind to everyone. George had an amazing ability to make people laugh. Our family gatherings around the campfires at Riding Mountain with Mom and Dad - and George's entertainment was so much fun! I have wonderful memories - George and Diane - Thank You so much! With Big Hugs and Lots of Love - Cindy Lou - your little Sister! - Posted by: Cindy Hogg (Little Sister) on: Feb 14, 2012

I worked for George for a few years and appreciated the time we spent together as friends. I was as many were, amazed by his brilliance. I enjoyed the time when he invited me to go with him to Neepawa years ago, as he was to speak to a gathering, that included the Mayor and Town Council. We were all in awe of the knowledge he had, and the way he spoke on what would be our future source of energy, all of which has proven true today. The best part of it all was our trip home, of which I will remind George, when I hope to see him again soon one day. George enjoyed life, creation and the outdoors. He was a man of strength and conviction. I experienced this when he invited me to go with him to Riding Mountain for a weekend to cut and chop firewood with him. Although we lost contact through the years I will always have a vivid memory of the nickname he gave me of Shimmy Shymko, because he liked the way I played drums. I will remind him of this also, when I hope to see him again. My heart goes out to Diane, of whom George spoke of often and loved deeply. - Posted by: Brian Shymko (friend) on: Feb 13, 2012

George had a very friendly curious nature and was always interested in seeing things from a different perspective. (his radio program on CJOB displayed this) How appropriate that his life should be celebrated on the week of Valentines Day. - Posted by: Judith Branden (acquaintance) on: Feb 13, 2012

It was sad to hear that George was not well recently and then also when I heard he had passed away. George always had a joke to share or just a friendly comment when we met, even though I've been away from Winnipeg for years. Diane, my heart goes out to you. I know what it's like to lose your best friend after many years. Your family and George's family will be of great help to you. Cherish the resurrection hope. That, our faith, and our memories are all we are left with. - Posted by: Vaughn Ford (Friend) on: Feb 13, 2012

George was the best big brother ever. I had the privilege of working with him, being manager of his home renovations company and also appearing in some of his tv shows and doing radio shows when he was out of town. I never, ever saw George get angry nor did he ever complain about any aches or pains. His sense of humour was outstanding and he was always making me laugh. I will truly miss George, but the many, many happy memories will fill my heart with joy. I love you, George. - Posted by: Faith Dalgleish (Sister) on: Jan 31, 2012

We were so saddened to hear of George passing away. However, we remember with lots of smiles and laughs the many great times we had working together and just talking. The mention of George's name always brings a smile to our face and will be even greater when we see him again in perfect health! Our love and condolences to Diane. We're thinking of you! - Posted by: Rob and Heather McLaughlin (Friends) on: Jan 31, 2012
