HANS BARZ On January 29, 2012, Hans passed away peacefully at Beacon Hill Lodge at the age of 84 years. He was born on September 29, 1927 in Germany and came to Canada in 1953 to follow his fiance Olga. Hans is survived by his wife Olga, of 58 years; sons Kurt (Pearl); Harry (Patti), and daughter Karen (Dave) Muys of Calgary. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Ingrid (Jarrett), Brent; Michelle (Matt), Laura; Britany, Danielle and Justin, as well two great-grandchildren Kaycen and Lauren; sisters Else, Hedwig, Gertrude, Helene, and one brother Horst as well as extended family and friends in Germany and Winnipeg. Hans spent many years working in the construction industry and retired from Seven Oaks School Division in 1993. A celebration of his life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., 1311 Dakota Street with a private family interment to follow. The family wishes to thank the staff on the 4th floor at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care and compassion given to Hans in the last year.
