HARRY ELLIOTT January 18, 1942 - February 2, 2012 Peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2012, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Harry passed away at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife June, daughters Deb (Kevin), Lyndy (Bruce), and grandchildren Catherine, Michelle and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister Edna Broome, nephews, Bruce, Scott, Mark, and niece Tracey, as well as relatives overseas and in the United States. Harry was born in Blackpool, England and came to Canada in 1968 to begin a 35 year career with the City of Winnipeg Transit System, retiring in 2003. For those who knew Harry soccer was his passion, from holding executive positions with youth soccer, and coaching out of North Kildonan Community Club and the Rebel United Soccer Club. His passion for the game captured his early Saturday mornings, watching his favourite team on TV, Manchester United. Harry was a 35 year associated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 215 and will be missed. He will also be missed by his friends at The Curtis (the office) on Friday and Saturday afternoons and the transit Coffee Gang on Wednesday mornings at Tim Hortons. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Health Sciences Centre and Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time. In accordance with Harry's wishes cremation has already taken place. A private gathering will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Harry's memory.

Hi June - I'm not sure if you will get this message but I hope you do. Stu passed away Aug. 8, 2018 & we were talking about Winnipeg & of course your name came up. I googled Harry's name & this came up. Greg (your godchild) is now 47 and I don't know where the time has gone. We have thought of you many times but never acted on it. Condolences a bit late. Harry was a soccer friend of my father's from the 1970's. They were both involved in youth soccer administration. I have 2 fond memories of Harry. The first was in Tacoma Washington as a 13 yr old kid playing cribbage with June and Harry. The second was when my dad and Harry spent many a day planning youth soccer activities and I would help them. Harry would share about his time in Blackpool. - Posted by: Andrew Stambrook (Soccer) on: Feb 10, 2012
