Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN ESME MCQUADE May 30, 1926 - February 5, 2012 Peacefully at her residence Esme passed from the arms of her beloved husband Bernard, into the arms of her Saviour. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Bernard, of nearly 63 years; a daughter Christine (Walter) Lewin; son David; sister Freda; brother-in-law John; grandchildren Jodi-Lee (Dave) Stuart, Bob (Colleen) Lewin, Marci-Ann, Rebecca, Allison McQuade, and great-grandchildren Bennett, William, Joseph Lewin and Jordan and Abigail Stuart. Esme was born in Yorkshire, England. At a young age her mother passed away and she was then placed in an orphanage where she remained until her late teen years. Esme and Bernard were married on April 23, 1949. In 1955 they immigrated to Canada settling in Winnipeg. After a few job related transfers they returned to Winnipeg to their present home. Esme was a very talented and gifted seamstress, knitter and cook, she shared her God given gifts generously with her family, the church and anyone she felt needed the benefits of those gifts. Esme continued her good works until 1998 when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. As the disease progressed the need for homecare became necessary. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all of the caregivers over the past 12 years. A funeral service will be held at St. Emile Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Road at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 10, with Father Carl Tarnopolski officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in Esme's name may be made to a charity of their choice. Green Acres Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid for me I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.

This morning two candles shine brightly at St. Joseph's in Placentia in memory of your loved one and for all of you who loved your dear Esme. Grief is a difficult journey. We really never forget those we love; they remain in memory; in our hearts. Celebration of Life God sent his angels from above, to help bring his child home. To take her by the hand, so she’ll never be alone. A spirit strong in faith and love, with a heart so very kind. A life that surely will be missed, with memories left behind. A promise made by God himself, for all those to receive. Salvation and eternal life, for souls who do believe. A celebration of life in death, of someone truly loved. Time will reunite the hearts, when joined there up above.
