Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS AGNES FOSTER (MIDDLETON) (nee CUBBON) June 8, 1917 - February 4, 2012 On February 4, 2012 at Concordia Hospital Doris Agnes Foster passed away at the age of 94. Doris was born in Manor, SK. She attended Business College and worked as a secretary. She married Wilf Middleton in 1941 and moved to Selkirk where her three daughters were born. Her love of sports showed over the years. Doris played her first game of golf at Selkirk Golf Club taking her husband's heavy clubs along. She was a member of the Selkirk Mixed Tennis, Knox Presbyterian Church Choir and Auxiliary, and Selkirk and Winnipeg Kinettes. After taking up residence in Winnipeg in 1954 Doris joined the Silver Heights Bowling League. She joined Elmhurst Golf and Country Club (she had her own clubs by then) where she remained a member for over 30 years, taking an active role in the Ladies Executive. Upon the death of her husband, Doris worked as a legal secretary to many notable lawyers in Winnipeg. In 1971, Doris married Bud (Edward) Foster, a match made in heaven and each winter they travelled the southern states from Florida to California playing many golf courses. As Bud was a RCGA Governor, their summers were spent at Elmhurst and travelling coast to coast attending National Golf Tournaments. They purchased a winter residents in Mesa, AZ where they made many wonderful friends. Doris was noted for her quick wit and keen sense of humour. She was a charitable person, supporting many causes. She was also a knitter for the Christmas Cheer Board for many years. She loved writing poetry and singing. Besides her first husband, Doris was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Agnes Cubbon, her siblings Elsie Dicken, Fred Cubbon and Eve McLaren, and son-in-law Bob Corbitt. She is survived by her loving husband Bud, daughters Trudy Corbitt of Edmonton, Linda Kluss (Ed) of Kamloops, BC and Susan Snezyk (Bernie) of Grande Pointe, MB and all her nine wonderful grandchildren and 12 and a half great-grandchildren. Also her extended family Janice Cline (Jim) and James Foster (Jhoy) of Victoria, BC and their children and grand-children. Many thanks to the staff at Concordia Village and Concordia Hospital and Dr. Sawchuk for Mom's excellent care. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
