LYDIA REINFORT On Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the age of 88, Lydia peacefully passed away at Holy Family Home. Lydia was born on July 7, 1923 in Koloniya Boruvka, Volhynia which was in Poland at that time and is part of Ukraine today. In 1949, she immigrated to Stornaway, SK with her husband and eldest son with the assistance of the Canadian Lutheran World Relief. In 1954, the family moved to Winnipeg. Lydia partnered with her husband in various businesses until their retirement in 1982. During retirement she lived quietly and simply, and found great joy in her vegetable garden. Lydia is predeceased by her husband, Leo (1995) and infant son Gerhardt, her sister Emilie and brother Herman. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Adolf (Otto) with his wife Derrelyn, grandson Kurt and his partner Ashley, granddaughter Lisa; her son Ernest with his wife Lorraine, granddaughters Breanne and fiancé Maxim and Christine and fiancé Sean; her son John with his wife Jackie. We will love you always and you will forever be in our hearts. Lydia's family heartfully thanks the staff on 2A of Holy Family Home for their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. She is gone. You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she is gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. by David Harkins KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
