Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFRED FRANK TROTMAN December 28,1920 - January 17, 2012 Peacefully, at age 91, Alf passed away with his family at his side on January 17, 2012 at Broadmead Lodge in Victoria, BC where he received wonderful care for Alzheimer's. Alf was predeceased by sisters Marg, Kay, infant brother Nelson and lifelong friend Alex (Bunny) Nicholson. Alf is survived by his loving wife Merle, sister Ruth, son Kerry (Anne), daughters Lynn (Randy), Pat (David), grandchildren Shawn, Jared (fiancée Nicole), Chris, Claire, Kerri (Ryan), Sarah (Andre), Hailey (Mike) and great-grandchildren Davin, Lacey, Eliana and Lucas. Dad, born in Winnipeg moved to Victoria in 1994. He served in the Navy (1940-1945) as a leading seaman/radar operator on the Orkney protecting merchant ships in the North Atlantic. Dad worked at the CNR as Claims Manager until retiring in 1977. He loved all sports (volleyball, baseball, jogging, swimming, hockey) and was a great skater. He enjoyed all his kids' activities, often taking movies. Later he enjoyed gardening. A self taught man he could fix anything. At Dad's request, cremation has taken place with a memorial service at Broadmead Lodge. God bless you Dad, your loving family.
