GEORGE MINSKY March 11, 1931 - February 9, 2012 Peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2012, in his home George Minsky, aged 80 years, surrounded by the love and support of his family passed on after a long battle with cancer. He will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his wife Jeannette of 54 years, as well as his daughters Diane (Curtis) Brisky, Donna (Terry) Sushelnitsky, Barbara (Gordon) King, Sandra (Richard) Park and grandchildren Kevin (Jaclyn) Brisky, Michael Brisky (Alla), Terri-Lynn (Mike) McGill, Shelly Sushelnitsky, Jarrod and Bradley King, Kyla Minsky and great-grandchildren Colby McGill and Tyson Brisky. He will be missed by all. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers William, Fred, Nick Minsky and sister Sadie (Helen) Turko and numerous family and friends. He is now re-united with his son George Minsky (Junior), grandchildren Tamara and Braeden King, parents, Peter and Mary Minsky, brothers Onufrey (Frank), Peter Minsky and sister Leda (Pauline) Millis. George was born on March 11, 1931 in Pansy, Manitoba, then moved to Winnipeg where he met his wife Jeannette (Compain). They were married on August 17, 1957 with whom he lived a long happy life together which he loved. George had a great big heart and always loved spending time with his family, he would always be there to do anything for them as well as lend a helping hand to any one else in need. He was a very special and spiritual person. The family would like to express our appreciation and special thanks to nurse Brenda for her excellent care through out and to the doctors and palliative care nurses. Prayers will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. Rt. Rev. Canon Walter Klimchuk officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Wheeler Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
