Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEODOZIJ HALMA It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Theodozij Halma. With his family by his side, Theo passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital Wednesday morning, February 1, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Theodozij is survived by his daughter, Christine (Jim); daughter-in-law, Debbie; granddaughter, Allison (Jeff); along with nephews in Australia and Kazachstan and nieces in Ukraine. He was predeceased by his wife Oksana (six weeks apart), his parents, brothers and sisters in Ukraine, and his beloved son, George (2003). Theodozij was born in Ukraine in September 1924. He survived the Second World War and ended up in a displaced persons camp in New Ulm, Germany where he would first see, pursue, court and marry his Oksana. In the summer of 1949, Theodozij, along with his wife and son George, came to Canada eventually settling in Winnipeg. It was here he took up the trade of finishing carpenter. Theodozij was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who was always there for his family. He had a deep commitment for everything he participated in. The many friendships that he and Oksana made throughout their lives were very important to them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His garden will never be the same. A funeral service officiated by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat Buyachok was held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral with interment at All Saints Cemetery.
