Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN NEIL MCCRINDLE 1946 - 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved John on Thursday, February 9, 2012. John passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Erna of 41 years, his children Paul, Sara and his grandson Liam. Also left to mourn is his sister Pat Stanley (Bob) and their children, his Thunder Bay family, many nieces, nephews and his dear friends. Growing up in Charleswood, John attended Charleswood Collegiate. He worked with his father at Roblin Park Esso and then went on to work at Air Canada for the next 27 years until his retirement in 2002. John was a devoted husband, father, papa and he adored his grandson Liam. He loved working outdoors and tinkering in his workshop. He renovated and created a beautiful home for his family. John wouldn't hesitate to help his friends and neighbors. He had a passion for muscle cars and you could find him every Sunday admiring cars and sharing stories on cruise night. He loved the company of good friends and an evening out laughing and dancing. He enjoyed trips to Florida to be in the sun, swimming in the ocean and golfing with his buddies. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, donations in John's memory may be made to Operationsmile.org or the charity of your choice. I was very sorry to hear of John's passing. The last time I saw him was at our annual curling get together. He looked great after a time of illness. He told me that he had come out the other side and he was doing well. I felt really good about that, so I was very surprised and saddened to hear the news. All the best to family.
