BRODIE TAYLOR CHABOT It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Brodie on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 23 years of age, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Brodie will be missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Bob and Karen; his brother, sister-in-law and niece, Jon, Christie and little Mirae; his sister Ashton and his grandparents Derek and Bea Betts. Brodie has many close relatives that will miss him dearly including Jocy Gillis and family, Bernie and Bonnie Chabot and family, Brigitte and Richard Beaudry and family, Nicole and Vince Gillis and family, Gilles and Lisa Chabot and family, Shauna Betts and Andrew Giffin and family, Deann and John MacInnis and family, Lori Betts and Ruedi Hauserman. Brodie had a special love and friendship with several of his cousins, especially Corey and Brandon. He also had a huge network of close friends far too many to mention. He is predeceased by his grandparents Maurice and Eveline Chabot and his uncle Lloyd Gillis of Elie, MB. Brodie had a love for the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish and camp. Brodie's heart was as big as his stature and he had a special ability to keep close contact with friends. He had an uncanny ability to show up when he seemed to be needed most! His sense of humour was unmatched and he always lit up a room when he entered. Brodie began his career as a carpenter and completed three apprentice levels before he decided to join his uncles and cousin in the family farm implement business at Chabot Implements. He quickly became an expert in the GPS technology side of the business. He will be sadly missed by his co-workers and customers alike. A memorial service celebrating Brodie's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Yellowhead Centre, 175 Mountain Avenue in Neepawa, MB with Pastor Daniel Williams officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with an interment to follow at a later date. Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Brodie may do so toward the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE501-840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1S1 or by calling 866-953-5437 (www.goodbear.mb.ca). • When you think of red hair, a large frame, friendly smile and gentle eyes first name that comes to mind is Brodie. In the few short years the family was stationed in Ashern Brodie made many friends and was always willing to help out. He would stop by the Detachment and, even though his dad was not there Brodie would just 'hang out'. Thinking back I smile, he would never speak unless I engaged in conversation first. If you happen to be in the Ashern area in the bush and come across a couple of apple trees with an orange tag, stop to remember these trees are living on for Brodie helping to feed the big game that he loved so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all Nancy, Craig, Kyle, Brendan and Jared - Posted by: Nancy (family friend) on: Feb 19, 2012

  • Our deepest prayers and heartfelt sympathy to your family Bobby. We had some laughs with him when he came to our farm to install the GPS. I will always remember that smile. • Just for you cuz... It was such a pleasure to have known Brodie. We enjoyed a pleasant working relationship which often went beyond the working day; after hours he sometimes just dropped in to say hello or to get some advice and tooling for his own projects. Brodie had a very large circle of family and friends whom he stayed in close contact with and for that reason we are all saddened by his passing. He will live on in the treasured memories that we all have of him. Sending our sincere thoughts and prayers, Gerry and Val Carignan - Posted by: Gerry & Val Carignan (distant "cuz") on: Feb 17, 2012

  • We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; But as God calls us, one by one, the Chain will link again Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may his memories you hold so dear to your heart, guide you though this difficult time, as for he's and Angel that will forever shine - Posted by: The Rivard Family - Joyce, Denis, Darlene, Paige, and Dylan (Family Friend and Relative to the Gillis Family) on: Feb 17, 2012
