ROBERT SPAULDING MOORE-BUNNEY Robert (Bob) Moore-Bunney, aged 84 years, a resident of Dryden, Ontario passed away at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on February 13, 2012. Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Royal Chelsea and Jean Moore-Bunney on September 10, 1927. He received his primary and secondary education in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. He attended Michigan Technology University in Houghton, Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. During this time he met his wife of 60 years, Joanne Koski. They moved to Dryden in 1951 and Bob joined the Dryden Paper Company Limited as a forester and continued to work for the various owners during his 40 years of service prior to his retirement as Woodlands Manager in 1991. During his working career, Bob was active in industry and community. Bob and Joanne were avid supporters of the arts and culture in Dryden. Bob served as President of the Ontario Forestry Association, the Director representing the Ontario Forestry Association with the Canadian Forestry Association, Chairman of the Dryden High School Board, a member of the Accreditation Team for the University of Toronto, University of Alberta and Lakehead University, a Member of the Advisory Board for the Faculty of Forestry with Lakehead University, a recipient of the JA Bothwell Award for outstanding conservation work in Canada, President of the Dryden Rotary Club, member of the Dryden Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Dryden Economic Committee, a Member of the Board of Directors with the Kenora/Rainy River Community Care Access Centre and an active Member of the United Church of Canada. One of Bob's greatest treasures was his involvement with the Dryden High School Conservation Course in which he was a key organizer from 1956 until his retirement. This program continues to educate high school students about resource management and forestry conservation to this day. Bob was well liked and respected by those who knew him and he was a loving family man. He was regarded as a classy person and a real gentleman. Bob was predeceased by his brother Jack Moore-Bunney (Eleanor), Winnipeg and his sister Elaine Cook, Calgary, Alberta. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his two sisters Barbara Savage (Garry), Calgary, Alberta, Joan Wilson (Gordon), Thunder Bay, Ontario; his brother Jim Bunney (Kelowna, BC) and his four children, Laura Kokocinski (Henry), Thunder Bay, Ontario and grandchildren, Alison (Winnipeg), Kyle (Thunder Bay), Erin (Ottawa); Karen Glenister (Bryan), Calgary, Alberta and grandchildren, Susan (Calgary), Lauren (Calgary); Bob Moore -Bunney (Barb), Dryden, Ontario and grandchildren, Brock (Winnipeg), Bryce (Thunder Bay); Susan Lappage (Ed), Dryden, Ontario and grandchildren, Roberta (Dryden), Matt (Dryden) and Jack (Thunder Bay). A celebration of his life was held on Friday, February 17, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory can be made to the Dryden Regional Health Centre Foundation through the Stevens Funeral Home P.O. Box 412 Dryden, Ontario P8N 2Z1.
