EDNA WILKINSON Peacefully on February 11, 2012 with family by her side, Edna Wilkinson passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 91. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Pat Wright (Larry) and Lynn of Vancouver and three grandchildren, Craig, Kelly and Tracey. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2011 and is survived by her sisters Dulcie and Patsy. Edna was born and raised in Winnipeg, and in 1942 she joined the RCAF and served for four years as a cook, the greater part of her service being overseas. She made many lifelong friendships during her service and had many fond memories of those years. There she met Frank, also from Winnipeg, and they later married in 1948. She and Frank spent 62 happy years together making the family their number one priority. They travelled extensively all over North America, both with their daughters and later, on their own. Mom had an outgoing personality and took pride in everything she did. She was a superb knitter, seamstress and cook. She loved to entertain and made all feel welcome in her home. She was employed at The Bay until her grandchildren, her greatest pride and joy, arrived. The love and guidance she provided to each grandchild will be a constant source of comfort to them. Her last two years were spent at Kildonan House where she made many new acquaintances and greeted each day with a smile. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the caring staff of N1 South, Concordia Hospital and Dr. Abdulrehman during her final days at Concordia Hospital. Those we love don't go away They walk beside us each day Unseen, unheard, but always near Still loved, still missed and very dear. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg MB, R3T 0R3 or the Salvation Army, Public Relations Development, 500-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
