WINNIFRED ROBSON (nee BROWN) Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William H. Robson ( Robbie ). Survived by her devoted children, Tom, John (m. Barbara) and Patti (m. André Massé), grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Kathryn, Jasmine and Julia, and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Isobel, Eloise and Hazel Winnifred. Born in Regina, Winnifred grew up in Winnipeg, where she became a loyal employee of Eaton's. She and Robbie were married a few months before he deployed for service overseas with the RCAF. After the war, they began building their life together in Winnipeg while Robbie completed his pharmacy degree. They later moved to Dauphin, Manitoba where she served as the foundation of family life for 30 years. Throughout her life, Win maintained a keen interest in world affairs, arts and culture through books, newspapers and her cherished CBC. Always adaptable and willing to make sacrifices for the good of the family, Win came to love dogs and appreciate cottage life. Win and Robbie enjoyed a happy retirement in Winnipeg and later Ottawa, always remaining close to their family. Ever proud of her children, Win was also an affectionate and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed and celebrated by all who knew her.
