Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Ashley was an amazing man, when the phone number didn't work I searched the web for him, because we hoped he would come and teach the children again. When Ashley come to our centre last March to work with the children we were delighted and amazed with his gift he shared with the youth of our centre. We offered lessons to the children for free and Ashley accepted an honorarium even though he was willing to do it for nothing. He also donated two guitars that the children loved to use. He will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Caroly Lotz Luxton Community Centre (helped teach children to play guitar) on: Mar 30, 2012

  • I was shocked to learn of Ashley's passing, via a CTV News feature this evening. I got to know Ashley when we were roommates at Brandon Regional Health Centre, having been operated on by the same back surgeon. We were to surprised to discover that we were both guitar players, and, oddly enough, our local cable station happened to screen a recording of a band I play in (The UKadians) at the same time. We last exchanged emails just before Christmas. My deepest sympathy goes out to Ashley's family and friends. He talked a lot about family, and, of course, Ozzie when we were hospitalised. My wife and I were also pleased to meet Darrell when he came to collect Ashley. - Posted by: Lyndon Bournon (Friend) on: Mar 15, 2012
