Aunty Alfa i was so saddened by your passing. Truly you were an incredible aunty, full of vigor and life. As a young child i have great memories of Miles and I staying there and playing with the apple box full of "dinky toys". Exploring the farm was all so much fun. We were always so welcomed in your home. In later years my coffee visits in the summer were always so great. Your spirit was always so stong. Loved my summer coffee visits. You will be missed dearly. Loved ya lots aunty. If you seen someone without a smile on their face, you would always give them one of yours. You were a favorite, aunty Alfa. I will truly miss you. And something i will always remember, is that there's always an important difference between a fact and a point of view. And yours Aunty Alfa, was always RIGHT! love ya, miss ya - Posted by: Melanie Selezinka (nee Sigurdson) (niece) on: Mar 03, 2012

We were so sorry to read of the death of Alfa in today's paper. She was such a warm and lively person that we always loved seeing her. I remember meeting her and Carol many years ago in the grocery stores in Winnipeg when they were getting things together to take to Freda every week. It was a great privilege to be invited to Freda's 100th birthday party out at Warren. Alfa was so kind in coming to our home with Cathy for our family reunion in 2001. She was the hit of the party! Later, on another occasion, we arranged to meet her at the Warren stopover on the Prairie Dog run and had a good visit then. She was a teacher of the old school and we enjoyed her many stories and experiences. Jonas and I are leaving on Feb. 23rd for a trip south to see Gregg, Jean and all of their family. We will be back to Winnipeg by April 9th and would love to be included in any gathering to honor Alfa. Please accept our deepest condolences. She was a unique woman. Growing up at the Stewart's was a great adventure. I looked forward to the times Cathy and I would spend exploring the farm. We would get off the the bus and await Sig's return from work; she always seemed to go shopping. I don't Sig missed one of our softball games (even if she was benched by Alex). Taking time from her busy schedule to travel with the team for league and provincial play. Too many memories to share, but she holds a spot in my heart for making my childhood so special. My condolences to the family; you are in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Wendy and Elvin Unger (friend) on: Feb 18, 2012
